A local Saxophone Quartet and the Holy Trinity School Brass Band will be performing.
Special Activities: There will be tours of the new Albion Millennium Green Orchard and the fantastic Dig This Nursery from New Cross will be giving away vegetable seedlings. To top it off, you can explore the fruit trees using our brilliant Trail Map
The event has been organised by Lewisham Gardens and The Forest Hill Society, and sponsored by Shannon’s Garden Centre and Winkworth &Co Estate Agents.
I am sure many of you have seen and apppreciate the vast improvements that have been made to the front of Forest Hill Society. This has been all sue to the hard work and dedication of a number of volunteers. If you fancy joining in, there will be another session on Sunday 30 October 2011 from 2.30pm. Details below!
The Nature’s Gym volunteers spent a very wet but enjoyable few hours clearing up Dacres Wood last week. Despite the rain, 10 hardy folk came along to help and managed to get a lot of work done. They were clearing the site in advance of the site’s open day planned by the Forest Hill Society on 23rd October.
Following the successful freecycle events in Devonshire Road Nature Reserve, they are also planning one in Dacres Wood. This will be held on Saturday 24 September, 11.00am-3pm.
The Forest Hill Society are planning to continue with their good work at Forest Hill Station this weekend. They will be digging out and planting up the spare patch on platform 1 on Sunday 7th August and then dig out and plant up the bases of the trees on London Road opposite the Horniman Museum.
They will there from 2.30pm, so if you fancy helping out, please pop along with you trowel and gloves.
