Lewisham Council is pleased to be able to start some early engagement with local residents and the wider community about potential changes to the eastern side of Beckenham Place Park (the Common and Summerhouse Fields).
This is a great opportunity for residents and the community to contribute to the shaping of this local asset. The on line consultation asks some simple questions about how well this part of the park is known and used, why people go or don’t go there, how people would like this part of the park to feel and what they would like to see and do there.
Lewisham Council appreciates that we are in a difficult and challenging time at the moment – but perhaps this is a nice opportunity to think positively about the future and creation of a wonderful space in the area. The Project Manager is happy to talk with you directly about this. If you wish to do so, perhaps you could email me in the first instance, and he can arrange a time to speak on the telephone.
Overview
The Council are consulting on potential changes to the eastern side of Beckenham Place Park (the Common and Summerhouse Fields) and seeking to secure funding to deliver improvements.
We are very keen to engage the local and wider community at an early stage in the design process to help understand the qualities and character of this part of the park and what needs to be improved and what positive things can be emphasised.
Why We Are Consulting
The Council will feed all this information into the development of design ideas – which the Council will then be seeking views on in a few months’ time
