We received 13 applications this year (for total £5,021.71) and 17 votes. Thank you for everyone who applied and who voted on the applications.
Unfortunately we only have £2,500 to distribute this year so it was a very difficult decision as all applications were great and received at least 3 votes. We proposed and the members at the meeting agreed to slightly increase the available funding to be able to fund all projects that received 5 or more votes (7 projects) for a total of £2,772.11.

- Friends of River Pool Linear Park – Water vole monitoring
- Wild Rangers – Creating a ‘Wildlife Village’ at the Lee & District Land Club Baring Road Allotment
- Friends of Chinbrook Meadows – Bats, birds and bees for Chinbrook
- Friends of Hatcham Gardens – Protecting Hatcham’s Pollinator Meadow
- The Baring Trust – Understanding the Invisible World: Volunteer Conservation and Acoustic Nature Education
- Taylors Lane Allotments – Biodiversity Project for Taylors Lane
- Fourth Reserve – Signalman’s birds
The successful projects this year will help monitor and enhance Lewisham’s biodiversity by restoring and improving habitats, including installing three ponds, 12 bird and 6 bat boxes, and 3 insect hotels, creating new habitats such as hibernacula, dead hedges and a bog garden, enriching habitats and supporting pollinators by planting wildlife-friendly plants. Some projects will continue ongoing species monitoring with new equipment and strengthen environmental education and community engagement via innovative methods such as the Acoustic Tree Listening Programme
