The Friends of Dacres Wood had a successful open day on 26th September. They bought a number of bird boxes for local people to put together and either place in the Nature Reserve or take home for a small fee. Half with 25 mm holes suitable for smaller birds, such as blue tits, and the rest with 32mm holes for birds such as sparrows and nuthatches.
There are a few bird boxes left that they are making available to local people and groups. If you are interested, please let me know and I will pass on your details to the group. There are only 11 left, so you;ll have to get in quickly. They need to cover their costs, so the the price of each box is £11.10
