Fungi walk 1/2 Sunday 25th October, Sydenham Hill Wood (booking essential)

Join us for the first of two fungi walks at Sydenham Hill Wood this autumn and winter. This walk is for beginners who would like to learn more about woodland fungi and its ecology. Please note this is not a culinary foraging event.

Nunhead Cemetery – One Tree Hill – Peckham Rye Park – Centre for Wildlife Gardening

This is a brand new event led by David Warwick through some of Southwark’s most interesting wild spaces to discover the different species of fungi that can be found. This walk has been agreed and supported by Southwark Council, the Friends of One Tree Hill and the Peckham Society. The walk will end at London Wildlife Trust’s Centre for Wildlife Gardening on Marsden Road where tea will be available while we inspect the specimens collected during the walk.

Fungi walk 2/2 Sunday 22nd November, Sydenham Hill Wood(booking essential)

Fungi expert David Warwick will be leading our second walk at Sydenham Hill Wood to teach you more about the amazing array of species found at the Wood and in the wider London area. David has a unique understanding of local fungi.

Please note that none of our fungi walks are culinary events but instead are intended to offer an insight into the world of urban fungi and the growing need for its conservation.

All fungi events must be booked beforehand. To book your place please contact Daniel Greenwood of the London Wildlife Trust. All meeting instructions will be given upon booking.
