Join us for a special evening at the Riverdale Sculptural Park, where we’ll explore the park at dusk and discover the fascinating world of bats in their natural habitat. Led by Elliot Newton, Director of Rewilding at Citizen Zoo, and the East team, the walk will reveal how these amazing creatures live, feed, and navigate through the night sky, often just above our heads!

Alongside this nature walk, we’ll open up a community conversation about night-time safety in Riverdale Park. The event is open to everyone, with a special focus on women, gender diverse, and LGBTQ+ groups, as well as families and residents of all ages.

Riverdale Park has ongoing challenges around feeling safe after dark. Your experiences and ideas can help shape how the park evolves, supporting Lewisham’s goal of making public spaces safer, more welcoming, and inclusive for all.

What to expect:

  • A guided walk led by bat experts
  • Insights into local wildlife and biodiversity
  • Friendly discussion on how to make the park feel safer and more inviting at night
  • A chance to connect with your community and share your views

What to bring:
Comfortable shoes, warm clothing, and a flashlight.

This event is family-friendly and free to attend, but you will need a ticket.
Come along to enjoy nature, meet your neighbours, and help reimagine Riverdale Park as a space that truly belongs to everyone — day and night.
