“The annual Good Parks for London reports promote and celebrate the amazing work that London boroughs and other land managers do to maintain and develop London’s parks and green spaces. The aim of the reports is to promote good practice, raise quality standards and help lobby to protect park budgets and resources.
The reports also assess how London borough parks services perform against the Good Parks criteria and showcase exemplar work in those ten areas, and this is conducted biennially since 2022. The Good Parks assessment returns in the 2024 report headlined Collaborative Solutions.” (Good Parks for London).
2024 – Collaborative Solutions
The biennial assessment of how London borough parks services are performing against the ten Good Parks criteria returns in this edition, alongside nine case studies that showcase how collaborative solutions can overcome some of the key challenges facing the sector.
Lewisham’s parks have once again been recognised for the excellence and have come top of all the London Boroughs!
Brenda Dacres, the Mayor of Lewisham said, “This is a huge achievement for Lewisham to be independently assessed as being the top performing borough in this year’s Good Parks for London report.
We are so proud of our fantastic parks’ team, our excellent partners Glendale and all our amazing volunteers and Friends’ groups across our borough who work so hard to make sure that our parks and nature reserves are so special. Their commitment and passion for championing excellence in our green spaces for our residents is truly outstanding and we really appreciate everything they do.”
