Take a walk down to Deptford Creek

The Creekside Discovery Centre in Deptford has lots of amazing opportunities to explore the Creek in new and exciting ways, so why not join them on one of their adventures? Coming up in the next couple of months, events include.

Saturday 23rd March – Nature Photography Walk – Booking essential

“Join us for an exciting photography walk from Lewisham Station to Deptford Bridge Station along the Ravensbourne River and DLR line. This experimental walk aims to deepen understanding of Deptford’s urban habitats and wildlife through photography. Led by experienced naturalist Nick and photographer Patty, it offers hands-on learning opportunities. Don’t miss out!”

Sunday 24th March – Deptford Creek Bird SurveyBooking essential

Join us as we survey the birdlife of the Creek. We will meet at Creekside Discovery Centre and then start surveying at the southern end of the Creek from the land and make our way north to where the Creek meets the Thames.

“Whether you are an expert or a complete beginner, this will be a chance to get outdoors and explore the wildlife on your doorstep. “

Wednesday 10th April – Easter Duck Race – Booking essential

“We’ll start by wading into the river, learning about the ducks and other wild birds that live in this area – maybe we’ll even see some of our neighbours who will be getting ready to breed this spring! Once we have made it to the start line, each of your ducks will take part in a race for a place in the final. The winner of the final will receive a special Creekside Prize!”

There is a lot more information about these and other events on the Creekside Discovery Centre, so why not pop along and try something new!
